Cricket South Africa director Graeme Smith has said that international and domestic engagements of contracted cricketers are the first priority, therefore no NOC has been issued for PSL. And the most important thing is to be available, just as domestic franchises cannot ignore the importance of cricket tournaments.
He said that in future also if other countries have the opportunity to participate in T20 leagues and the players are not required for international and domestic engagements, they will be happily issued NOCs.
It may be recalled that Imran Tahir, Riley Rousseau and Merchant de Lange, who were selected in the PSL draft on December 12, do not have central contracts, so their participation in the PSL will not be a problem but for Cricket South Africa. No prostheses cricketer was available for the money draft due to non-receipt of NOC from Pakistan. Earlier, during the series against Pakistan, South Africa had allowed its players to participate in the IPL.
