Windows 11 Installation features and functionality for efficient work

In this article, I want to show the features of installing Windows 11 on incompatible hardware and additional features in this operating system that I use in everyday life for comfortable and convenient work.

System requirements

Operating system Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (for assemblers)

Monitor at least 9 inches with a resolution of 1366×768
Compatibility UEFI, Secure Boot and TPM 2.0.
video card video adapter compatible with Directx 12 and WWDM 2.x.
Features and effective work with the operating system.

There are a lot of features in the Windows 11 operating system! Mikey worked it out perfectly for all types of devices, from tablets to stationary personal computers, and all-in-ones!

Windows 11 installs and runs seamlessly on all PCs and tablets with Intel CPUs from 8th generation onwards.

Windows 11 requires the use of a special TRM 2.0 information protection module, which should provide secure storage of encryption keys, as well as information protection. This module is supported exclusively for Intel processors starting from the 8th generation and AMD Ryzen starting from the 2000th generation!

Thus, using an old processor that does not have a TPM 2.0 module, the Windows 11 operating system needs to dance with a tambourine and just like that the installer will not let you install it, but I hasten to reassure you! The installation of Windows 11 can be implemented without any problems on almost any hardware, and this operating system will work stably even on ten-year-old Intel processors.

Work with desktops
The new system from Microsoft has become very convenient to use multiple desktops!

Desktop creation

In order to create an additional desktop, you need to move the mouse cursor over the “Task View” button and click on the “+” or press the key combination Win + Ctrl + D.

Keep in mind that using the Win + Ctrl + D keyboard shortcut when creating a desktop will automatically transfer you to the newly minted desktop.

Renaming desktops
In order to assign a name to the desktop, you need to hover over the “Task View” button, in the desktop selection window that appears, hover over the desired desktop and right-click, in the menu that opens, you just need to select “Rename” and in the end it remains just to set the name of the selected desktop.

This setting helps me better navigate between desktops.

Separate wallpapers for each desktop
Now each desktop can be assigned its own background image.

In order to assign a background image to each desktop, you need to hover over the “Task View” button , after which we hover over the desktop that we want to select and right-click on it, in the menu that opens, click “Select Background”.

After all the operations done, we will be transferred to the desktop that we have chosen and the application for selecting the background image of the desktop will open in advance.

It remains only to choose a background from the latest images or select your own background image using the “Browse photos” button.

This setting allows you to simplify the visual orientation between desktops, which allows you to work more efficiently.

Hot keys and utilities for efficient work with Windows 11.
Screenshot of the selected area of the screen
In order to take a picture of the desktop area that you need, just use the keyboard shortcut Win + Shift + S. After pressing this key combination and selecting a section of the desktop, the selected segment of the image will be copied to the clipboard, it remains only to transfer it to Paint or the same Microsoft Word. In order to save the snapshot of a part of the desktop, you will need to right-click in the application data workspace and select “Paste” from the menu that appears, or you can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + C , then you just have to save the picture in Paint or a document with this figure in Microsoft Word.

This function is more convenient if you need a photo of only a specific part of the screen, and not the entire screenshot of the desktop.

Panel for inserting emoticons into the text
The emoji panel can be turned on with the keyboard shortcut Win + W.

Also on some keyboards, such as the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard, there is a special button for displaying emoticons, which greatly simplifies the task of turning on this panel with cheerful, yellow faces.

Wired keyboard Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard [LXM-00011]

Not so long ago, emoticons imposed by the Japanese have become an integral part of humanity and many use them to express their emotions without words, with the help of a special yellow muzzle.

This approach greatly simplifies the expression of a person’s emotions in a text, but it seems to me that such a simplification significantly reduces a person’s vocabulary for expressing emotions using words, which is not very good.

Voice input
The built-in voice input in Windows 11 works just fine, it didn’t cause a lot of complaints for me, and it serves me as a good assistant in writing articles and notes, but only in Microsoft Word applications or in the Notepad application.

For convenient work with voice input, it needs to be configured a little.

To configure voice input, you need to launch it with the key combination Win + H , then click on the gear and turn on “Voice Input Launcher” . This launcher does away with the annoying Win+H keyboard shortcut to turn on voice input, leaving a neat button to turn on voice input that can be moved anywhere on the desktop area.

The second setting allows you to automatically insert punctuation marks in the text.

In order to enable automatic insertion of punctuation marks into the text, you need to call the voice input application using the Win + H key combination , click on the gear and turn on the menu “Automatic insertion of punctuation marks” in the same way as in the first case .

Intermittent critical issue with voice input
Despite all the delights that the voice input feature has brought to the Windows 11 operating system, this feature has a huge problem! I would even say a critical problem that the company needs to solve and solve very quickly, as the voice input function is very convenient and will appeal to many!

This critical problem lies in the fact that when you start voice input for some reason, mainly in Internet browsers, the error “There was a problem with the connection, try again” very often occurs. I do not know what this problem is connected with, since my Internet connection is stable and has a speed of 500 megabits / sec.

Voice input in browsers works very poorly and even in the native EDGE browser for the Windows operating system, he did not want to work, which caused me indignation as I very often write my articles in the Google Chrome browser or Yandex browser!

In Windows 11, I liked working with spelling, and since I write text on a computer very often and a lot, such utilities help me a lot to make fewer mistakes.

Enabling utilities for automatically correcting misspelled words and automatically highlighting misspelled words.

In order to enable the “Automatic correction of misspelled words” and “Automatic selection of misspelled words” functions, you need to:

1. Go to the system settings by clicking on the “Start” button with the right mouse button and select the “Settings” item in the list that appears.

2. In the pop-up window, select the item “Time and language” , then in the menu that opens, enable these settings.

These two utilities, I think, have their roots in our favorite smartphones, which in turn are currently on the cutting edge of technology.

This integration of technology from mobile devices makes Windows 11 a universal operating system that smartphones will probably soon run on.

Recommended hardware for great performance and trouble-free installation of Windows 11.
For a flawless installation and operation of the operating system, excellent, productive hardware is required.

1. The processor must be at least Intel Core 8 generation.

Intel Core processors starting from the 8th generation are needed for a trouble-free installation of Windows 11 and ongoing support from Microsoft. It was from the 8th generation that Intel began to add their TPM 2.0 security chip, which is so necessary for full support for Windows 11.

For flawless operation of Windows 11, a M2 SSD drive with high write and read speeds must be installed under the system, since these characteristics directly affect the responsiveness and performance of the system.

I categorically do not recommend installing a regular hard drive as the main drive for the operating system due to the low read and write speed. By setting a regular hard drive as the main one, you will get a slow operation of the entire system.

From SSD and SSD M2 drives, I can recommend an expensive solution from Samsung in the form of SSD models Samsung 870, SSD M2 Samsung 970. You can also use cheaper SSD M2 drive solutions from a manufacturer such as Dexp SSD M2 L2 RGB models or less sophisticated SSD 2.5 DEXP L5.

Samsung memory for this period of time is one of the most reliable and efficient among its competitors. Even in mining on video cards, video cards with Samsung chips are preferred as they are very tenacious!

“In my personal computer, I installed an SSD M2 drive from DEXP, model L2 RGB, with a capacity of 256 gigabytes, despite the fact that it is more reliable to install SAMSUNG, and this decision was made due to the very low cost of this SSD. In the future, I still want to buy myself Samsung SSD 512 GB

3. RAM

For efficient operation of the system, it is enough to install 8 gigabytes of DDR 4 or DDR 5 RAM. If the computer is assembled exclusively for games, then the minimum figure will be 16 gigabytes of RAM, but it is more preferable now to install a 32 gigabyte kit as the system requirements are every year for games are growing.

DDR 5 RAM for this period of time is the most advanced and efficient, but I still categorically do not recommend installing it due to the unjustified high cost.

“In my assembly, I installed inexpensive DDR4 RAM from AMD with a total volume of 16 gigabytes and consisting of two memory modules of 8 gigabytes each”

The smoothness of the system depends very much on the monitor for a given period of time, as with the support of a 120 hertz monitor, the smoothness and responsiveness of the operating system increases and it becomes much more pleasant to look at such a smoother picture.

“Currently, I use a 27-inch monitor from Samsung, the “Odissey G3″ model with the already ” popular” resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and support for 120 hertz. As for me, such a screen is not quite enough to work with graphics, but it provides a smooth picture just phenomenal!”

I recommend buying an expensive video card only if it is an assembly for games or for video editing, since the video adapter’s performance is exactly what is needed there.

For normal work with documents or non-demanding tasks, the usual graphics built into the processor will suffice, or, as I have, an inexpensive discrete video card such as the Geforce 1030.

I recommend taking the motherboard as exclusively according to needs.

For example, if for work you do not need to overclock your processor, put a lot of hard drives, video cards and RAM into your computer, then a completely simple motherboard without various super abilities will suit you!

“In my assembly, I used a simple, inexpensive motherboard from Gigabyte, model H410M S2H V2, as it has everything you need for a perfectly balanced build of a personal computer without frills”You can read more about my assembly of a personal computer in this article .

Preparing to install Windows 11 on a personal computer without TPM 2.0 support.
Microsoft, having released Windows 11, limited its installation on personal computers without support for the TPM 2.0 chip, which caused indignation among many users!

Recently, on the Internet, I came across the news that Microsoft employees are using the Windows 11 operating system on incompatible hardware. Well, since the Microsoft employees themselves decided to use Windows 11 on incompatible hardware without upgrading to a new one, then why do we need such unjustified costs!

8. After all the steps above, Windows 11 starts without any problems.

“In this way, I managed to install Windows 11 on a desktop personal computer with a third generation intel core i 7 processor and on a laptop with a first generation intel core i 5, Windows 11 works stably on both devices! True, everything works slowly on a laptop, I think because due to the lack of an SSD drive and a small amount of RAM”

Windows 11 is a completely new operating system for me, as it has many innovations in both design and functionality! I like its design, stability and speed of work.
