When calculating the exhaust power, in addition to the total volume of the room, it is also important to take into account the air exchange rate per hour. For the kitchen, according to sanitary standards, the air exchange rate is 12. Accordingly, you need an exhaust hood of not 63 m³ / h, but at least 720. That is how much you need to drive through the ventilation so that the air in your kitchen is clean. But here, too, there are a few caveats.

Firstly, the received power implies that the hood will always work at the highest speed. It will be a constant unpleasant noise, and for equipment to work all the time for wear and tear is not very useful.

Secondly, the quality of air purification depends not only on the hood, but also on the condition of the ventilation system of your home. If you live in an old panel house and are not sure about the quality of the ventilation ducts, the required extractor power can be safely multiplied by 1.5–2.

And finally, what kind of stove you use is important. For gas stoves, the coefficient should be increased from 12 to 15-20, especially if you often cook on 2-3 burners at once.
