Crysis remastered trilogy
October 15, 2021 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series

Crysis was prized for its advanced graphics. But sales were low. It was said that the first part at one time debuted only on PC, and the second and third worked unstable on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Crytek, the company responsible for the series, experienced global financial difficulties in mid-2010. It survived thanks to a deal with Amazon – the Internet giant bought a license for the CryEngine engine. Following this, Crytek rallied and in alliance with Saber Interactive (Quake Champions, World War Z) issued Crysis Remastered.

The remaster of the original was followed by graphically improved versions of the sequel and triquel. They are no longer suitable for impressing friends with the level of detail, but they quite satisfy the nostalgic thirst.

Not long ago, Capcom released reimagines of RE 2 (2019) and RE 3 (2020). They were greeted warmly by critics and casual gamers alike. RE 2 sales exceeded 8 million copies, RE 3 – 3.6 million.

With the announcement of a full-fledged remake of RE 4, Capcom is in no hurry. Instead, we will get a remaster for virtual reality for now. Resident Evil 4 VR is occupied by Oculus Studios and Armature Studio, it will become an exclusive to Oculus Quest 2. The third-person view has been changed to the first-person view, weapons and ammo can be picked up by hand, opponents behave a little differently than in the original, graphics are nicer than in the game 16 years ago.

Mario party superstars
October 29, 2021 on Switch

Atypical remake. The fact is that Nintendo collected classic boards from the old days of the Nintendo 64 under the guise of Mario Party Superstars and spiced them up with mini-games from various parts of the series, not only the N64 era.

Mario party superstars

What is Mario Party? This is a board game suitable for gatherings with family or friends. The rules are simple: controlling a character from the Mushroom Kingdom, roll the dice, move around the board and participate in mini-fun. Management in them is one- or two-button, even a small child will master.

However, it is not at all necessary to gather a noisy company. You can also run a batch over the network.

Once upon a time, Rockstar released several projects a year. Then I switched to the “game every five years” model. GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are impressive, but gamers expect more experimentation and interesting stories from R *.

The collection Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition must satisfy hunger. It includes rejuvenated versions of GTA 3 (2001), GTA: Vice City (2002) and GTA: San Andreas (2004).

The release is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of GTA 3. Developers will conjure over the graphics and gameplay. Dialogues will probably not be touched.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
In 2022 on PC, PS4, Xbox One

The Prince of Persia line did not show signs of life for a long time. Not to consider the attraction for VR rooms Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time as such?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

Ubisoft has entrusted it to its Indian divisions. The choice of the engine has become very controversial – this is Anvil, sharpened for open world projects. In The Sands of Time, like in the original 2003, there is no open world. Plus, Anvil does not get along well with the central gameplay feature of the game – rewinding time.

In 2022 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series

Piranha Bytes, famous for its role-playing series Gothic, is now forging Elex 2. The German studio, together with the Gothic brand, belongs to THQ Nordic. The publisher rightly judged: there is no need for the brand to stand idle while Piranha Bytes comes up with new adventures for Jax.

20 years have passed since the premiere of the first Gothic, but it still has a loyal following. When THQ Nordic posted a prototype of the remake on Steam, 180,000 people tried it out in two months. 95% of players approved of the publisher’s idea of bringing the classics back to life.

There is no news about the rethinking of the ancient hit yet. We know one thing for sure: Unreal Engine 4 will serve as the basis for it.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed
In 2022 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series

And again, let’s talk about the efforts of THQ Nordic. Among the goodness she owns is Destroy All Humans, a saga about the adventures of the evil alien Krypto.

On the instructions of the publisher, Black Forest Games brought back the first Destroy All Humans (2020) from the dead. In this shooter, an alien finds himself on a cartoon Earth from the 1950s.

In the remake of the second part, the geography is wider: the Soviet Union, the USA, Great Britain, Japan and the Moon. Outside – 1960s.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed

As a “foundation” Black Forest Games chose Unreal 4. Modern graphics are not limited to. By analogy with the first part, we predict the appearance of cut missions, changed controls and new abilities of the protagonist.

The remaster was seized upon by Nightdive Studios. In Blade Runner, you will meet characters from the film Blade Runner (1982), hear familiar tunes, and walk through Hollywood sets. Although the game and the film have a lot in common, the main character is different – it is Detective Ray McCoy, chasing replicants.

Nightdive will raise the resolution of the storylines in Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition, dust off the hero models, and polish the animations. In parallel, the team, by the way, is working on a remake of System Shock, System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, SiN: Reloaded and PowerSlave: Exhumed.
