LAHORE: The board has started hiding the salaries of women cricketers while the number of players in the central contract has increased.
The PCB has announced a central contract for women cricketers, 12 contracts have been offered this time as compared to 9 players last year, 8 have been given a place in the emerging category, and the monthly stipend has been increased by 10 per cent.
The PCB has declined to give details of the amount. The contract will be effective from July 1. Jawariya Khan and Bismillah Maroof have been retained in the “A” category, while wicketkeeper Sedrah Nawaz’s “B” has been retained. C “I was demoted, Nada Dar was promoted from C to” B “.
Last year’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year Fatima Sana also got promotion in “C” category, Kainat Imtiaz and Nashra Sindhu have also been included in “C” category, all those who got Emerging Contract last year. The players have been retained, Sedrah Amin and Iram Javed are still with the national squad for the tour of West Indies but they were not considered fit for the contract.
According to the list, Bismillah Maroof and Jawariya Khan “A”, Alia Riaz, Diana Baig and Nada Dar “B”, Anam Amin, Fatima Sana, Kainat Imtiaz, Nahida Khan, Nashra Sindhu, Amima Sohail and Sidra Nawaz Ayesha Naseem, Kainat Hafeez, Muneeb Ali Siddiqui, Najia Alvi, Ramin Shamim, Saba Nazir, Sadia Iqbal and Syeda Arub Shah have been included in the Emerging Category.
According to the PCB, the contracts were awarded keeping in view the performance of the last one year in international and domestic cricket. Chairperson of the National Women Selection Committee Urooj Mumtaz said that the list of contracts would be reviewed after six months and if necessary a review would be done. He hoped that the players would fulfill our trust.
