Washington: Russia has begun preparations to provide Iran with a satellite system to monitor neighboring countries.
According to the Washington Post, Russia is preparing to provide Iran with a state-of-the-art satellite system that will allow Iran to keep a close eye on its neighbors, particularly the US military base in Iraq, Saudi oil fields and the Israeli military base.
According to former and current US officials monitoring the situation in the Middle East, the Russian-made satellite (Kanopus-V) is equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution cameras that could significantly increase Iran’s espionage capabilities. The transfer is possible within a month.
It should be noted that the Iranian commander has visited Russia several times since 2018 to finalize the satellite agreement, while a few days ago Russian experts also visited Iran to train the Iranian staff
