ISLAMABAD: The decision of the accountability court regarding the auction of the property of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and a petition has been filed a seeking annulment of the accountability court order for confiscation of 88 kanals of land in Sheikhupura.
According to details, the accountability court in Islamabad had issued orders for confiscation and auction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s property in the Tosha Khana reference, on which three claimants of Nawaz Sharif’s properties came forward and they approached the accountability court. Reject requests.
Petitioners Mian Iqbal Barkat, Aslam Aziz and Ashraf Malik, while appealing to the Islamabad High Court against the decision of the accountability court, have taken a stand that the house of Upper Mall Lahore, Raiwind should be stopped from confiscation of 105 acres of land. Besides, the order of the accountability court for confiscation of 88 kanals of land in Sheikhupura should also be declared null and void.
The petition further states that the accountability court ignored the facts while giving its verdict. If the verdict of the accountability court dated October 1, 2020, April and June 2021 is not declared null and void, the petitioners will be affected and they may suffer irreparable loss.
