Abu Dhabi: In the 16th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 12 runs after a thrilling contest. Babar Azam’s 85 off 63 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 5 fours could not help the Karachi Kings.
In the match being played at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium Abu Dhabi, Karachi Kings won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat which scored 176 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Riley Russo was the standout batsman with 44 runs while Rehmanullah Garbaz (3), Mohammad Rizwan (29), Sohaib Maqsood (31), Shimron Hatmair (7), Khushdal Shah (44), and Sohail Tanveer (14) were the other batsmen.
Thesara Perera was the most successful bowler for the Karachi Kings, leading two wickets for 12 runs in three overs, while Emad Wasim and Waqas Maqsood took one wicket each.
In pursuit of the target, Karachi Kings managed to score only 164 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and 85 runs scored with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes from 62 balls of Babar Azam could not work. Among other batsmen, Sharjeel Khan (4), Martin Guptill (11), Najibullah Zadran (11) and Shadow Walton scored 35 runs while Thesara Pererar and captain Emad Wasim returned to the pavilion as soon as they scored.
Imran Khan was the most successful bowler for Multan Sultans who led 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs while Imran Tahir took 2 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs.
It should be noted that Multan Sultans were led by Mohammad Rizwan for the match while other players included Rehmanullah Garbaz, Sohaib Maqsood, Riley Russo, Shamron Hat Mayer, Khushdal Shah, Sohail Tanveer, Sohail Khan, Imran Tahir, Shahnawaz Dhani and Imran Khan. ۔
