Lahore’s oldest and most historic museum dedicated to tourism

Lahore: The oldest and most historic museum in Lahore has been handed over to the Department of Tourism, but autonomy will remain in the administrative affairs of the Lahore Museum.

The Lahore Museum is under the Information and Culture Department, but all administrative decisions are made by the Board of Governors, of which the Chairman is the Chief Secretary Punjab and the Secretary is the Director Lahore Museum.

For official correspondence and correspondence, it is done by the Secretary, Department of Information and Culture. However, the Lahore Museum has been subordinated to the Punjab Tourism Department.
Secretary Tourism Punjab Capt (Retd) Mushtaq Ahmed said that a formal notification in this regard would be issued in a few days, which would help in the promotion of tourism and archeology.

On the other hand, the officials of Lahore Museum said that this move would not affect the administrative affairs and decision making of Lahore Museum. All decisions of Lahore Museum are taken by the Board of Governors headed by Chief Secretary Punjab. This work will now be done through the Secretary Tourism
