Jose Butler ruled out of the Ashes series after a broken thumb

England wicketkeeper Jose Butler has been ruled out of the Ashes Test after breaking his thumb.

According to international media reports, the wicketkeeper of the English team was allowed to go home after a thumb injury while Johnny Bursito or Billings will be included in the squad conditionally in his place.

A statement from the England cricket team stated that Butler would not be available for the fifth Test due to injury and would return home on Monday for treatment.
Joe Root, captain of the English cricket team, described Butler’s injury as “dangerous” and said he would have to be very careful to play in the future.

According to the cricket board, Johnny Barstow will fly from Hobart on Friday to join the fifth Test squad. If his injury improves, he will be fed or Billings will be included in the squad as a substitute.

It should be noted that the five-match series England is already facing a 0-3 defeat. Today, the fourth Test match of the Ashes series between Australia and England ended in a draw after a thrilling contest.
