During the visit, the Israeli Foreign Minister inaugurated his first embassy in Abu Dhabi and his first consulate in Dubai.
“We want peaceful relations with all our neighbors, we are not going anywhere because the Middle East is our home,” he said. This is a historic moment and I urge all countries in the region to come and talk to us.
During the two-day visit, a number of economic and trade agreements were also reached between the UAE and Israel. This is the first visit by an Israeli minister since the two countries announced the resumption of diplomatic relations last year.Welcoming the opening of Israel’s first embassy in the United Arab Emirates, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said that peace and stability in the Middle East depended on strong and cordial relations between the two countries.
It should be noted that the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco and Kosovo have restored diplomatic relations with Israel under the mediation of former US President Donald Trump, but the first of them, the Israeli embassy is open in the UAE.
