HUAWEI is going through hard times. US sanctions have closed access to Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, but the company does not despair . But everyone is interested in the question: will HUAWEI be able to produce top-end devices? In connection with this issue, rumors appeared on the network about the continuation of the top line in the face of the Mate 50. It is about this smartphone that we have collected information in this material.
After the US blacklisted the company from the Chamber of Commerce, the tech giant was cut off from the most advanced technologies from the West. First of all, this affected the mobile sector, in which HUAWEI deservedly took first place. By cutting off access to advanced chips, in particular to the upper segment (Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and higher), the US affected the company and lost its leadership in the smartphone market. These chips not only handle various tasks perfectly, but also provide access to 5G. The giant also had to let go of its subsidiary HONOR .
HUAWEI has its own high-end chips – Kirin 9000. But the US not only restricts trade between Qualcomm and HUAWEI , but also prohibits TSMC from producing processors for the Chinese company.
HUAWEI not only manufactures smartphones, but also invests heavily in research and development , and ironically, this company has made a key contribution to the development of 5G networks. And now the US is plotting. But the company is trying to stay afloat and continues to release smartphones , although not as cheerfully as before.
Rumors about the preparation of HUAWEI Mate 50 appeared about eight months ago. According to the first leaks, the company was going to release smartphones on its own processor, no less than on the 3nm Kirin 9010. This immediately raised questions, because such a process technology is available to a few factories and they are not located in China.
A little later, the forecast was corrected. According to the updated information, HUAWEI has reserved Kirin 9000 chips for HUAWEI P50 and Mate 50 . It was previously claimed that the P40 series would be the last to use the Kirin 9000, but it looks like the company has changed plans. And the head of HUAWEI confirmed that there are enough chips in reserve.
A few months later, information about the Mate 50 Pro appeared. According to new data, the smartphone was supposed to get Kirin 9000, a huge 7000 mAh battery, 65 W fast charging, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB storage and a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 by 1176 pixels and refresh rate of 120 Hz.
HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro was also shown in concept renders . The camera is predicted from Zeiss, and not from Leica, as it was until now. Sensors 64-megapixel main, 16-megapixel telephoto, 48-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 12-megapixel lens for depth analysis.
If we talk about the timing of release, then this area is rather vague. At first, everyone was inclined to think that smartphones would be presented at the end of 2021. Later, they decided that the release would take place at the beginning of 2022. But some believe that the Mate 50 could be canceled altogether.
But it looks like smartphones will still be coming out as HUAWEI prepares to release high-end smartphones. And it will probably be the Mate 50. A “enveloping” screen patent was discovered on the web , which will apply not only to the front, but also to the side faces of the smartphone.
Also HUAWEI Mate 50 can get support for “satellite” SMS . The company needs to surprise the audience with something new, it seems that this will be one of the surprises. However, there are rumors that Apple is preparing something similar.
And according to the latest rumors, HUAWEI will release the Mate 50 series smartphones at the previously scheduled time . Smartphones should present on October 21 in Vienna. Whether this rumor turns out to be true, we will find out in about a month.
The Mate 50 series was previously rumored to be released on October 21, but a well-known insider claims that the HUAWEI Mate 50 series will be released in the first quarter of 2022 . Considering that this is not just an insider, but the Digital Chat Station itself, it is likely that the announcement will indeed be postponed. Whether this is true, we will find out tomorrow.
High-quality renderings of the HUAWEI Mate 50 have been published online .
According to rumors, the smartphone will be released in June. In the meantime, other representatives of HUAWEI have reached Russia: HUAWEI P50 Pocket and HUAWEI P50 Pro . The second one was also tested .
HUAWEI Mate 50 and HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro will be equipped with a new processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G. It seems that 4G processors are not subject to sanctions, thanks to which the novelty will be the mainstay of the Chinese tech giant’s flagship smartphone line.
