London: We’ve been hearing about cholesterol-lowering vaccines called insulin for a long time. This ‘game changer’ injection will soon be tested on thousands of people in the UK. The UK has formally approved it.
In the first phase, it will be applied to 30,000 people. The total cost of injecting food twice a year is set at 36 3,600 to 000 6,000. In the first phase, the drug will be tested on patients who have a long history of LDL cholesterol or have had major or minor strokes, according to its manufacturer Novartis.
There are some patients who, despite having a heart attack or a bitter experience of stroke, cannot lower their cholesterol because they are not affected by any medicine and they constantly carry large amounts of harmful cholesterol in their blood. The drug, developed by Novartis, will save thousands of lives.
Even in Pakistan itself, thousands of patients have cholesterol in their blood which can lead to many deadly diseases. In the UK alone, their numbers are by no means less than 7 million. However, some patients have high levels of cholesterol, both hereditary and genetic. Such patients take statins three to four times a day but do not recover.
Insulin has undergone many medical steps and has shown its effect on many patients in just three months. Blood cholesterol levels in some patients have been reduced by up to 50% in a few months.
