WASHINGTON, June 7 – RIA Novosti. US President Joe Biden had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and invited him to visit Washington this summer, the US leader’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters.
“I came here (for the briefing) from the Oval Office, where President Biden is having a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky,” Sullivan said.
According to him, Joe Biden stressed in a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“He also said that he is waiting for him (Zelensky) at the White House this summer upon his return from a trip to Europe,” Sullivan added.
Biden will embark on his first overseas tour as president this week. He will visit the UK and Belgium to attend NATO and EU summits. During the June 16 tour in Geneva, negotiations are also planned between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
