LAHORE: ICC world record holder umpire Aleem Dar has appealed to well-known umpire Ahsan Raza, who saved match referee Chris Broad in the Sri Lankan bus attack, to be given a star of courage.
Former Manager Azhar Zaidi’s Club P&T Gymkhana hosted a function in honor of Aleem Dar and Ahsan Raza at LCCA Ground in Lahore.
On the occasion, Aleem Dar appreciated the services of fellow umpire Ahsan Raza and said that Ahsan had saved his life by lying on foreign match referee Chris Broad despite being seriously injured in the attack on the Sri Lankan bus. Even after this no government has done anything for Ahsan for his courage and bravery till date. P&T Gymkhana Club is a club of both of us and from the platform of this club we appeal to the government to give a star to Ahsan ۔
ICC umpire Ahsan Raza was of the view that he has always fulfilled his responsibilities in his career and has made the country famous. At present, he has the honor of being the highest cricket final supervisor in the world. With the encouragement of Aleem Dar, Khalid Mahmood and Azhar Zaidi, there is an opportunity to move forward.
Former PCB chairman Khalid Mahmood, former Sharjah Cricket Council member Muhammad Amin and host Azir Zaidi also addressed the function. Finally, shirts were distributed among the club’s players.
